What do you love about being a working mom?
I love the ability to be creative in my work. With social media, I’m able to meet and share ideas with other people from all over the world.

I'm very lucky to have such a special community.

What is the biggest challenge of being a working mom?
Sometimes one of the hardest things is to “turn it off” when I have to switch over to Mom-mode. I try not to use my phone when I’m hanging out with my son, but that doesn’t always work. I’m more aware of it now than I was a few years ago, and try to do better.

If you had a magic wand, what one thing would you change about working mom life?
I wish there was better, more affordable childcare available for families with young children.

What tips do you have for other working moms?
Strive for effectiveness and not balance.

The concept of balance is a falsehood. It’s unattainable.

Strive to be effective in the role that you are performing at that time. When you’re doing mom-stuff, be all in. When you’re doing work, be all in on that. You’ll find that you get more accomplished and will feel better about it.

Also, ask for help when you need it. Whether it's your partner, your family, your neighbor, or a graphic designer on Fiverr, ask for assistance because you can’t do all the things all of the time.

Any relationship tips for working moms?
Put down your phone. Connect with your kids and your partner, if you have one.

Just soak them in. Listen to their laughs. Watch their smiles.

Just have fun together doing everyday stuff. This can’t be emphasized enough.

What's the best piece of advice your own mother gave you?
Be the best at your job. No matter the level of your job, strive to be the best at whatever you do.

What stresses you out?
For work, I stress out about the Instagram algorithm and creating content that resonates with my audience.

For my personal life, I stress that my son is learning all of the things he needs to make him a good, kind, independent person…and doesn’t get too much screen time.

How do you mother yourself?
I walk to not only get exercise, but to clear my head and get the creative juices flowing. Walking helps sync up my mind, body, and spirit.

How and why do you take CBD?
I enjoy the Mother Bar CBD mints because they allow me a moment to just be.

Moment mints allow me to get in touch with all of my senses.
